The best thing about audiobooks is that they make a long road trip much more pleasant! I drove 9.5 hours from Wisconsin to Arkansas (and then back) over the past few days and enjoyed listening to "An Irish Country Village" by Patrick Taylor. It is the story of a rural doctor, his young protegee and all the villagers who are their patients and friends. There is a bit of romance, a crisis or two, and a satisfying ending that leaves me wondering what must happen in the previous novel, "An Irish Country Doctor". I've loved reading two other series of the same genre - Jan Karon's Mitford series and Phillip Gulley's Harmony series.
The audio is about 14 hours long and beautifully narrated with believeable Irish accents by John Keating
