Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green. Hated the beginning; loved the ending. This was a YA book with a theme about homosexuality.
Hana's Suitcase by Karen Levine. Lovely little true story of a Japanese woman and group of children who find a connection to the story of a girl whose life was lost in the Holocaust. (for grades 4-8)
Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Simonson. Really enjoyed this novel set in contemporary England with a very traditional English gentleman who faces struggles with encroaching modernization in the form of real estate, his very urban son, and his romantic interest - a woman of Pakistani heritage. I really loved this one.
